Where I am
I am staying in an Airbnb in Paraligia Verga, on the outskirts of Kalamata on the Greek Peloponnese. I have a view of the sea and the Taygetus Mountain range.
Kalamata is known for its olives which have PDO status which means that the name can only be used for olives (and olive oil) from the region around Kalamata.
Kalamata has a population of about 75,000 people and is one of the most beautiful coastal cities of Greece with beaches famous for their clean, turquoise waters where people come from all over the world to freedive.
It was also the home to Lawrence Durrell for just short of a year in the 1940's when he was director of the British Council’s English Language Institute in Kalamata.
I am based here from December 1 until the end of February with a couple of house-sitting gigs in between.
What I am Reading
I have Revenge of the Tipping Point, The Future Normal, Regenerative Business and The Nvidia Way downloaded on my kindle for evening reading.
But I am enjoying mystery audiobooks a little more during the cold and wet months 'cos my hands get really cold when I am holding my kindle.
What I am working on
Ian and I are undertaking an exciting project this year. We are the new managers for The Iconpainter Villas and will run the vacation rentals this year. There is much work to be done and we are still in the planning stages so watch this space for updates.
